Donga rehabilitation project promotes land conservation at kaMkhaya

The Project Technical Team  Leader, Lungile Shongonyane, has provided an update on the progress of the Donga Rehabilitation Project at Kamkhaya Community. 

The project is funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) through the Small Grants Programme, housed under the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). 

As part of the project activities, Lungile conducted training with members of the Kamkhaya community on measures to prevent land degradation and soil erosion. The training focused on equipping the community with practical knowledge on how to protect and sustainably manage the rehabilitated land. 

The community group overseeing the project was also guided on how to care for and maintain the area to ensure that the rehabilitation efforts are sustained once the project is handed over to the community.
